Park Ridge Presbyterian Church is currently seeking to fill the following positions:
Facility Manager and Nursery Worker – see below for information about both positions
Facility Manager
The Facility Manager is responsible for maintaining and improving the buildings and grounds of the church. This is a full-time (40 hours a week) position. Compensation and benefits will be commensurate with prior experience. Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain the church’s property, which includes the church building, church-owned private home, outside grounds, and parking lot. This includes cleaning, maintenance, preventative care, housekeeping duties, painting, carpentry, drywall/plaster work, groundskeeping/landscaping, safety, and security as it relates to the physical property.
- Room set-up and breakdown related to church-sponsored functions, as well as clean-up after functions.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with church leadership to establish schedules and maintenance calendars, address facility event requests, and complete various projects. Areas of work and management include, but are not limited to, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, safety, flooring, and security systems.
- Maintain flexibility to accommodate unscheduled functions, such as funerals, unexpected equipment malfunctions and repairs, weather challenges, and unforeseen emergency circumstances.
- Attend scheduled staff meetings and collaborate with staff and church leadership to learn about events on the church calendar that require facilities staff support. Attend and participate in the monthly Buildings and Grounds Committee meeting.
- Be vigilant in observing the condition of all church property and resolve problems as they arise. Provide regular updates to the Building & Grounds Committee Chair and the Senior Pastor for proper consideration.
- The building manager is required to work extra hours to support Christmas Eve, Easter, funerals, weddings, sales (four times a year), a community Memorial Day event, and other special events at the church on weekends and holidays.
- Communicate directly with PRPC members, outside group leaders, and all PRPC staff to coordinate event and meeting logistics.
- Participate in snow removal and other seasonal work as needed.
- Schedule and coordinate contractors’ visits for routine maintenance and service calls. Escort contractors as needed around the building and grounds.
- Develop and implement a painting schedule for all church buildings and properties.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Building & Grounds Committee and the senior pastor.
Key Relationships:
- The building manager reports to the senior pastor of the church.
Qualification/skills:
- Strong work ethic and ability to display personal investment in their work
- Prior experience in custodial work is preferred
- Ability to complete basic electrical and plumbing maintenance is preferred
- Prior experience working in a school or daycare setting preferred – PRPC rents space to a private daycare and preschool
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and to work with volunteers
- Enthusiastic attitude and good people skills
- Knowledge of the safe use of tools, equipment, machines, and chemicals
- Ability to understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures
- Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises
- Ability to lift up at least 40 lbs. and move equipment/supplies up and down stairs
Terms of Employment:
- Position hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm
- Compensation and other benefits are commensurate with experience
- Employment contingent upon completion of a background check

Nursery Worker
This is a contract position that provides weekly nursery care from 9:30 am to 11:30 am on Sunday mornings. The position description can be found HERE.
