The Session of the church is charged with creating an awareness of Mission needs and programs both local and worldwide. Budgeted mission funds are allocated for that purpose. Our church designates a part of its budget each year to the General Assembly, General Mission Fund, which is the major source of Presbyterian support for numerous missions around the world.
Worldwide missions supported by our church:
-
•Csaba and Lisa Leidenfrost, a young couple from our own church family have served for years in Africa under the auspices of Wycliffe Bible Translators, Inc.
-
• Designated mission projects of the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. around the world
Senior High Mission Trip
Each year, the youth of our church reach out through the Youth Mission Trip. Here both our youth and adults work together to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ to needy families, here in the US and in Mexico. They have worked with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Christian Outreach Rehab, World Servants, and Appalachian Service Project. Most recently, the youth traveled to the Appalachian region of West Virginia. Whether building needed shelter or repair work, leading a daily Bible School for local children, or visiting an orphanage; during a challenging but rewarding week, they perform needed work for families, enjoy social interaction with the community, and experience life-changing relationships.
Our church allocates mission funds more locally to:
-
•Mission of the Synod of Lincoln Trails
