Sunday Morning Bible Study

Sunday Morning at 11:30am in the library.

The Rise and Fall of King David

Action, political intrigue, romance, betrayal, and the judgment of God, these are the themes that highlight the epic life of David.  At once a devoted man of passionate faith, and a cunning warrior who's plotting often borders on ruthlessness, David is a complex, and very human character.  He is a center piece in the story of salvation history.  Join us as we study the figure known as "a man after God's own heart."

Contact the church for more information.

Wednesday Night Bible Study

Join us on Wednesday evenings for a meal and Bible study!  The Bible study begins at 7:00pm in the church library following dinner at 6:15pm.

The current study is "Love Wins" by Rob Bell

Questions of heaven and hell have occupied the imagination of human beings for millennium.  Rob Bell's book, written in an easy, conversational style, prompts us to think these questions through again, with wit, humor, grace, and an eye towards the love of Christ.  Come explore these fascinating topics, as we use Rob Bell's book as a lens through which to see the human condition.

Wednesday Night - The Open Forum

The Open Forum - A radical NEW kind of community learning.

What is it?  The Open Forum is a place where anyone can come to have their questions answered about faith, religion, philosophy, theism, Christianity, or the Presbyterian tradition, and to discuss those answers in a safe, open-minded, and reasoned environment.  It is truly open to the community.  The religious and non-religious, the scholarly and the lay, the Christian and non-Christian; anyone of any background and any religion can come to have their questions answered and discussed.

How does it work?  Questions are submitted before our meetings, either to a drop box in the front lounge of Park Ridge Presbyterian Church, or to the Director of Youth and Family Ministries' email address dyfmprpc@live.com .  The anonymity of all questions is preserved.  On the nights we meet, questions will be answered in the order they are received.  ALL questions will be answered, ALL questions will be given their chance in the spotlight, and ALL questions will have a moment to be discussed.  No question is too hard, too simple, too taboo, or too strange.  It's like a Dear Abby column, but live and in person!

When and where is it?  Our first meeting will be Wednesday, April 11th at 7PM in the basement of Park Ridge Presbyterian Church.  Future meetings will be held every other Wednesday night at the same time and place (4/25, 5/9, 5/23 are the next three scheduled dates).
